Why do those with no spirituality constantly try to physically climb higher than others!?

whether in a boxing ring,or on a rooftop,hanging from a tall tree,or climbing the corporate ladder they always seem to be trying to psychologically attempt raising themselves to places above others rather than accepting where they are!GAB
